ELON, N.C. – On Saturday afternoon, the Wofford College women's tennis team was defeated 4-0 by Elon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Elon won the doubles point and then won three singles matches to secure the win.
 
The Phoenix began doubles with a win at the #1 position, and the point was clinched with a 6-2 win at the #3 position. The #2 position was unfinished, with the pair of Quinn Bernthal and Katie Godfree tied at 4-4 with Elon.
 
In singles, the Phoenix took matches at the #3, #1, and #6 positions in straight sets to clinch the overall match. The remaining three singles matches were unfinished, with Chloe Elliott winning the first set at the #5 position.
 
Wofford (3-3) will visit Longwood on Wednesday, March 4. The next home match will be on Friday, March 6, against North Carolina Central.
