SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College softball team defeated the Presbyterian Blue Hose 6-2 on Wednesday evening at Hope Field. The Terriers enter conference play this weekend with a record of 20-4.

Abby Greenwood got the start against Presbyterian, pitching a full seven inning game to improve to 8-1 on the season. Greenwood only allowed two runs on three hits.
Addison Lucier and
Brianna Stanley led the offense with both players finishing the game with two RBI.
Kaytlin Greenwood and
Kalli Petty each recorded one as well.
Rivers Sampson,
Gracie Parker,
Desirae Devine,
Abby Gossett, and
Lauren Archambault all tallied one hit. Lucier led the team with one stolen base.

Presbyterian started the game with one run in the first inning to take an early lead over Wofford. The Terriers responded with six runs in the bottom of the second to take a 6-1 advantage.
Desirae Devine started the inning off with a bunt single, and
Abby Gossett followed that up with a single through the left side. An error from Presbyterian loaded the bases, leading to an RBI single from
Kaytlin Greenwood.
Addison Lucier followed that up with a two RBI hit to right field. A few at bats later
Brianna Stanley drove in two more runs with a single off the right field fence.
Kalli Petty ended the inning with an RBI single up the middle to score
Rivers Sampson. Presbyterian was able to add one more run in the third inning, but Wofford kept the Blue Hose scoreless in the final four innings of the game. The Terriers would go on to win 6-2 against Presbyterian.

The Terriers will start conference play with a road trip to Chattanooga on March 21-22. Wofford enters conference play with a SoCon best 20-4 record while being ranked 72
nd nationally in the NCAA RPI ratings. The three-game series is part of an eight-game road stint.
