The 2026-27 academic year has gotten off to a fast start. September began with our annual student-athlete back-to-school picnic, with over 400 in attendance. We have had multiple SoCon Players of the Week in football, volleyball, and women's soccer, while men's soccer, cross country, men's and women's golf, and men's and women's tennis have also been in action. This weekend is Family Weekend at Wofford, so be sure to join us for women's soccer on Friday at Snyder Field and football on Saturday against SoCon newcomer Tennessee Tech!
 

 
















ATKINS PERFORMANCE CENTER OPENING
The dedication of the Robby Atkins Performance Center at the Joe E. Taylor Center was held on Sept. 1. The dedication was part of an exciting day for our student-athletes as they gathered for a group photo, heard from Dr. Jay Dowd, and enjoyed our annual back-to-campus picnic. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ENDOWED HEAD COACH POSITION
Steve and Ashley Richardson Allen surprised the team and coaches with the announcement of the $2 million endowment gift at the team's first official practice on the floor of the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on Monday afternoon. The team celebrated just steps away from Jerry Richardson's signature, which is painted on the floor. The Ashley Richardson Allen Head Women's Basketball Coach is the first endowed head coaching position at Wofford College. It is just the second head coaching endowment in the Southern Conference, and of the 365 NCAA Division I women's basketball programs, there are only eleven endowed head coaching positions! NCAA LEGACY LAB
Gabby Mundy from the women's basketball team and Katie Brosseau from the women's lacrosse team recently attended the 2026 Fall Legacy Lab program hosted by the NCAA leadership and development staff. The four-day event welcomed 47 Division I student-athletes from NCAA member schools to the national office.
    Legacy Lab is a program designed to help sophomore and junior student-athletes explore entrepreneurship while still competing for NCAA member schools. The programming seeks to equip learners with experiences to enable them to turn their ideas into sustainable ventures. Student-athletes left the four-day themed sessions with the tools to successfully plan and pitch their potential ventures, as well as a strengthened purpose to build their legacy beyond athletics. HITTING AND PITCHING LAB
The indoor baseball and softball hitting and pitching lab officially opened in September. The facility was created by repurposing space at Benjamin Johnson Arena and includes an 80-foot netted area and turf. Three pitching mounds are available and state-of-the-art video analytics can be provided for hitters and pitchers. Both teams have enjoyed having a place to work during inclement weather this fall without having to leave campus.
 


 
















TERRIER TOWN RETURNS
After a successful debut in 2025, "Terrier Town" is back and even better than before! Stop by to enjoy inflatables, yard games, music, vendors, giveaways, and so much more. "Terrier Town" will be open three hours before each game (10:30 a.m. for the Family Weekend game against Tennessee Tech) and close at kickoff. HOMECOMING EXHIBITION VERSUS VIRGINIA TECH
The men's basketball team exhibition against Virginia Tech on Friday, October 16, at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium is coming up soon! The exhibition contest will not be a part of season ticket packages and tickets are on sale now! Wofford student tickets will be available for purchase in September. The game marks the return of Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young to Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium, who led the Terriers to five Southern Conference Championships and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2019). COMPLETE HOMECOMING EVENT SCHEDULE
The Office of Philanthropy and Engagement has a big weekend planned for Homecoming 2026.
