Ed Wile ‘73, a former letterman in football and baseball at Wofford, helped organize the Terrier Club’s Atlanta Area Mini-Tour Golf Tournament. For the past 14 years, his year-round work developing sponsorships and support for the tournament has paid scholarship dividends for Wofford student-athletes. In addition, in 2008, the Southern Conference (SoCon) awarded him the SoCon Distinguished Service Award. He now serves on the college’s Board of Trustees and is co-chairing an ambitious campaign to endow the college’s athletic program — a campaign that Wile sees as not just doable, but essential.
Wile is an advisory and brokerage services PRIME Consultant with UBS Financial Services, Inc., in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Wile, along with his family, have established an endowed scholarship fund, with a matching gift from the estate of
Mrs. Homozel Mickel Daniel. The scholarship is awarded to a football student-athlete who is a good citizen, possesses leadership qualities, exhibits outstanding character, and indicates financial need.
