Michael Edens, a 1998 graduate and fullback for the Terriers football team, has become an exceptional business leader in the banking industry. After graduating from Wofford, Mr. Edens went on to graduate from the South Carolina Banker’s School, as well as graduating from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
After graduating from LSU, Mr. Edens took his Wofford football background to Hammond High School, where he coached for 2 years. In 2000, Mr. Edens was offered a job at the National Bank of South Carolina (NBSC), and after roughly 2 years of working in branches and in private banking, he was promoted to Camden city executive. After adding the Northeast Richland area to his territory, he was promoted in 2006 to run the NBSC’s private banking division in the Midlands. He is currently the NBSC’s Senior Vice President and private banking manager.
His involvement at Wofford has been continuous, and he has generously given his time and hard work to the College through the President’s advisory board. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Edens, his parents, have endowed an athletic scholarship in his name, with a matching gift from the estate of
Mrs. Homozel Mickel Daniel, and the scholarship is directed towards a member of the Wofford football team.
