Charles Sterner began working at Wofford in July of 2024. He works primarily with women’s basketball, rifle and cheerleading. He joined the Terrier staff after spending the last three years at Newberry College.
While at Newberry, he worked with women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf and cheerleading. He was the head athletic trainer at Gaston Day School from 2019 to 2021.
A 2017 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in athletic training, he added a masters in athletic training from West Chester University in 2019. While at West Chester, Sterner was a graduate assistant at Chestnut Hill College, working with cross country, women’s lacrosse and track and field. He was also a training camp intern with the Baltimore Ravens during the summer of 2016.
Sterner is a certified athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
