Will Fuqua will serve as a student assistant coach this season. He missed the 2017 season due to injury. In 2016, he saw action in a relief role in six games. Fuqua posted a 4.50 ERA in 4.0 innings pitched with three strikeouts. He threw an inning at South Carolina (3/8) with one strikeout and added an inning against Western Carolina (4/2) with a strikeout. He also missed his freshman season due to injury. He was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll three times. Â

Fuqua was a three-year letterman at J.L. Mann High School. During his senior season, he was 2-0 with a 2.23 ERA in limited action due to injury. He received Perfect Game All-American honorable mention recognition in the fall of 2014 and was named to the Diamond Prospects All-Fall team in 2012 and 2013. He was a member of the National Honor Society. The son of Traye and Liz Fuqua, he is a finance major.
