HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterman at Lexington High School ... During his senior season he was 4-1 with a 1.44 ERA over 44 innings pitched and had 38 strikeouts to only nine walks ... Also had four saves and two complete-game shutouts to earn All-Region and All-State honors ... Named to the International Paper Classic All-Academic Team ... Team won the 4A State Championship with a 33-4 mark ... As a junior he recorded eight saves and had a 1.05 ERA in 28 innings pitched ... Team was 29-4 and reached the Lower State finals.
