2023: Made 19 relief appearances… Over 35.0 innings, posted a 5.91 ERA with four saves, a 2-3 record and 19 strikeouts… Named Preseason All-Southern Conference First Team… Earned the win in season debut against Southern Illinois (2/18) with a scoreless and hitless 2.1 innings of work… Tossed 2.0 perfect innings against UNC Asheville (2/21) with a pair of punchouts… Pitched a third consecutive scoreless outing with 1.2 innings against Sacred Heart (3/5) to notch a save… Earned the win with 2.0 scoreless innings against Cincinnati (3/11), striking out two… Pitched a scoreless inning at Georgia Tech (3/21) … Against Siena (4/2), tossed 2.0 scoreless frames with three punchouts… Notched a save at ETSU (4/6) with 2.2 innings of work and two strikeouts… Hurled 2.0 one-hit scoreless innings at Winthrop (4/18) … Earned the save at Georgia State (5/9) after 3.0 shutout innings and three punchouts… In game two of a doubleheader at The Citadel (5/19), secured a save with a scoreless inning of work, allowing just a hit and a walk… Named CSC Academic All-District... 2022: Made 25 relief appearances… Posted a 2-1 record and a 2.50 ERA with a save and 44 strikeouts in 39.2 innings… Made season debut with an inning against George Mason (2/19), striking out one and did not give up an earned run… Tossed 1.1 scoreless innings with a pair of punchouts against Georgia (3/1) at Fluor Field, and followed with 1.1 scoreless innings again against Penn (3/5) with a strikeout in game one of the doubleheader… Tossed a scoreless frame against Georgia State (3/8) and 2.0 scoreless innings against Lafayette (3/11), striking out one in each… Struck out two in 1.2 scoreless inning at Belmont (3/18) … Punched out three in 1.1 innings at USC Upstate (3/22) … Turned in a scoreless inning with three punchouts at Gardner-Webb (3/26) … Pitched 2.0 scoreless innings against Winthrop (3/30) with two strikeouts… Earned the win against ETSU (4/16) with 2.0 scoreless innings and a strikeout… At Presbyterian (4/19), tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with three punchouts… Struck out one in a scoreless inning in the series opener at Mercer (4/22) … Tossed a scoreless inning with a strikeout at Samford (5/1) … Pitched 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts at UNC Asheville (5/4) … In the series opener against Western Carolina (5/13), struck out one in a scoreless inning… In the series finale against Western Carolina (5/15), tossed 2.2 scoreless innings with five punchouts… At VMI (5/20), pitched 3.0 scoreless innings to earn the win with a pair of punchouts… In the SoCon Tournament against UNCG (5/27), pitched a scoreless inning with three strikeouts… Struck out three over 3.0 scoreless innings in the SoCon Tournament against Samford (5/28) … Named to Southern Conference All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll.

2021: Made ten relief appearances ... Posted a 3.44 ERA and a 2-0 record with 12 strikeouts in 18.1 innings ... At East Tennessee State (4/11) threw 4.2 innings with one run allowed and two strikeouts ... Against the College of Charleston (4/21) did not allow a hit in 2.1 innings with three strikeouts ... At Georgia State (4/27) had three strikeouts in 3.0 innings with one hit allowed ... At Duke (5/11) had two strikeouts and allowed one run in 1.2 innings ... Named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and SoCon All-Academic Team. 

2020: Did not see action ... Named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll  ... Played for Mocksville in the Old North State summer league.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterman at R.J. Reynolds High School ... As a senior was 5-2 with a 1.31 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 48 innings ... Held opponents to a .184 batting average as he was named All-Conference and team MVP ... As a junior was 2-2 overall with a 3.61 ERA, with 28 strikeouts in 31 innings to earn All-Conference honors and was the team’s MVP ... During his sophomore season had a 2.43 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 40.1 innings to earn honorable mention All-Conference honors ... For his career finished fifth in school history in strikeouts, wins and innings pitched ... Member of the National Honor Society and a National AP Scholar.

PERSONAL: Born August 18, 2000 ... Son of Brent and Susan Stephens ... A mathematics major ... Uncle, Richie Grimsley, played baseball at North Carolina.
