Expected to be a righthanded pinch hitter and backup first baseman this spring . . . Will provide the Terriers with good depth at first base . . . Has good power and has shown steady improvement . . . 2006: Used primarily as a pinch hitter and defensive replacement at first base as a freshman . . . Collected a pair of base hits on the year, at Western Carolina (March 26) and at #5 South Carolina (March 28) . . . Also drew three walks on the year . . . High School: Helped Bishop England to its second state title in three years in 2005 . . . The Bishops went 27-5 and defeated Emerald 10-0 in the AA championship game . . . Played for coach Mike Darnell . . . Played first base and also pitched as a prep . . . Hit .350 as a senior . . . Member of the Honor Roll . . . Played summer ball for West Ashley American Legion Post 147 . . . Personal: Born Feb. 23, 1987 in Des Moines, Iowa . . . Son of Josh Yeaw and Katherine Gaglione . . . His uncle, Bill Asermely, played at Yale and in the Baltimore Orioles organization and is currently a Yale assistant coach.
