Luke Hatcher joined the Wofford baseball staff in June of 2026 as director of player development.
Hatcher spent the 2026 season as an assistant coach at Young Harris College, where the team posted a 41-18 overall record. They won the Conference Carolinas tournament as the #4 seed and won a pair of games in the NCAA Southeast Regional to reach the title game. Three Mountain Lions earned ABCA/Rawlings All-Southeast Region honors and eight players earned All-Conference honors.
As a player at Young Harris in 2025, Hatcher earned First Team All-Conference Carolinas honors as an outfielder. He was also named to the NCBWA All-Southeast Region Team, earned D2CCA All-Southeast Region Second Team honors, and received First Team ABCA/Rawlings All-Region recognition. Hatcher posted a .343 batting average across 57 starts, collecting 80 hits, 28 doubles, 3 triples, and 16 home runs while driving in 70 runs.
He played two seasons at Seminole State College and in 2023 appeared in 39 games for Georgia Southern. In 2024, he started all 50 games at West Georgia with a .315 batting average and led the team in home runs.
He began his coaching career as the hitting coach for the Harrisonburg Turks in the Valley Collegiate Summer League and as head coach of the Wardawgs 11U team.
A native of Cross City, Florida, he earned his undergraduate degree from West Georgia in 2024. He added a masters degree in sports management from West Georgia in 2026.
