2024: Started all 17 games pitched, leading the team… Tallied a 10-2 record, leading the team and ranking second in the SoCon with those 10 wins… Also ranked second in the conference in ERA (3.35), WHIP (1.19) and strikeouts per nine innings while leading the league in strikeouts (124) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.28)… Pitched 110.0 innings and allowed only 29 walks with his 124 punchouts checking in as the third most in a season in program history… Named SoCon Pitcher of the Month for March and twice named SoCon Pitcher of the Week… Named to the All-SoCon First Team by the coaches and media… Named to ABCA All-Region Second Team… Made first start of season against Bucknell (2/17) with six strikeouts in 4.2 innings before notching first win against FDU (2/24) behind 6.0 innings of work with just one run and two walks surrendered beside eight punchouts… Tossed 6.0 innings with just one earned run allowed (two total) against Fordham (3/2) … Struck out a then-career-high 13 batters against Lafayette (3/9) to secure the win with two runs in 5.2 innings… Pitched 6.0 one-run innings at Charleston (3/16) for the win, and followed with 6.0 more innings against The Citadel (3/23) to open SoCon play, striking out 10 with no walks for the victory… Posted five punchouts to go the distance in a seven-inning run-rule triumph at VMI (3/29) … At Mercer (4/19), walked away with a no decision despite tossing 9.0 innings with just one run allowed and a career-best 14 strikeouts to just one walk… Earned win against Western Carolina (4/26) with seven strikeouts, going the distance in a seven-inning run-rule win… Tallied another run-rule complete game against ETSU (5/10) with six strikeouts, no walks and just one run… Opened the SoCon Tournament with 6.2 innings against The Citadel (5/22) in a play-in game, gathering the win with six punchouts to just one walk and one run… Started the first game of the SoCon Championship against Samford (5/26) and tossed 7.0 innings with four runs allowed while notching seven strikeouts to get the win… Named to the SoCon All-Tournament Team as the Walt Nadzak Award recipient (tournament Most Outstanding Player)… Helped secure Wofford’s first-ever NCAA Tournament win over LIU (6/1) in the Chapel Hill Regional with six strikeouts in 6.0 shutout innings… Named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.

2023: Made 15 appearances with one start… Owned a 3-3 record with a 6.75 ERA over 45.1 innings of work… Struck out 54 batters with just three walks… Named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team… Made collegiate debut against Southern Illinois (2/18), tossing 2.2 innings in relief with five punchouts… Earned first win after 5.0 shutout relief innings against Kent State (2/25) with seven strikeouts and just one walk and three hits… Tossed 4.2 scoreless innings against Sacred Heart (3/4) in game two of a doubleheader to earn the win, striking out seven… Earned win against Michigan State (3/8) at Fluor Field after 2.2 relief innings with just two hits allowed and a pair of punchouts… Pitched 4.0 innings against VMI (3/26), allowing just a run with six punchouts… Made first-career start against Siena (4/2), pitching 4.0 innings with six punchouts… Hurled 1.2 scoreless innings against High Point (4/30).

HIGH SCHOOL: A starting varsity player for four years, Cowan helped Blythewood High School to a region championship in 2021 as a junior... With a .346 average and .495 OBP plus 20 stolen bases, he earned Region Player of Year, a gold glove award, All-Region and All-State selections.

PERSONAL: Birthday is July 7... Son of David and Stephanie Cowan... Majoring in sociology & anthropology... Brother, Josh, played baseball at Francis Marion University from 2022-23.
