Brandon Napolean joined the Wofford staff in February of 2025. He will work with the defensive backs and serve as the defensive passing game coordinator.
During the 2025 season, the team won six of the last seven games to post a 6-6 overall record. The total defense was ranked first in the SoCon and 40th in the nation, while the scoring defense was fourth in the nation. The team was also first in the SoCon and seventh in the nation in interceptions with 15. Safety Maximus Pulley led the SoCon in interceptions with five and he was first in the nation in interceptions returned for touchdown with two. Pulley was a first team All-SoCon selection, along with being a consensus All-American. Cornerback Darius Malcolm, Jr. was first in the SoCon with 13 passes defended as he earned All-SoCon second team honors and was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team. Safety Eli Campbell added four interceptions to rank second in the league as he was named All-SoCon second team.
In 2024, he was on the staff of Rich Rodriguez at Jacksonville State. The team was 9-5 overall and 7-1 in Conference USA. They won the league championship with a 52-12 win over Western Kentucky. They were selected to play in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl against Ohio Univeristy. Defensive back Zechariah Porter was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.
Napoleon joined the Gamecocks from Rhode Island, where he served as the Rams’ defensive backs coach in 2023. His unit at URI was led by cornerback Syeed Gibbs, who was named the 2023 CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year and an FCS Freshman All-American by numerous outlets, and All-CAA safety Brent Jackson.
He joined the Rams’ staff from Sacred Heart, where he was the cornerbacks coach in 2022 and was on a staff that boasted the fourth-best pass defense in FCS. His unit included All-NEC corner Arsheen Jiles, who led the conference in pass break-ups.
Prior to Sacred Heart, Napoleon was a graduate assistant at Buffalo and also served stints at Kutztown University, Geneva College, Midwestern State and Susquehanna.
During his time at Susquehanna, Napoloen coached two-time All-American Daniel Shelton and led the River Hawks to a 10-1 record and a Centennial-MAC Bowl win in 2019.
A native of Rahway, N.J., where he was played in the U.S. Marines All-American Bowl, Napoleon signed with West Virginia and played for the Mountaineers before finishing his career at Kansas Wesleyan. He earned his degree in communications from Kansas Wesleyan in 2018.
