Darius Dobson joined the staff in February of 2022 as the running backs coach. He recruits the Greensboro and Raleigh areas in North Carolina and northeast South Carolina, including Dillon and Darlington.

Dobson has spent the past several seasons on the coaching staff at North Carolina Central. The Eagles opted out of the 2020-21 season, during which he served as the tight ends coach. He was the graduate assistant wide receivers coach for one season and then worked with the quarterbacks for a season as well. Â

He played quarterback for one season at Methodist University, winning a conference title, before transferring to North Carolina Central. He was part of two MEAC championship teams as a player before moving into a coaching role.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., he earned a bachelor’s of science from North Carolina Central in 2018 and added a master’s of science in athletic administration in 2020.
