David Land

David Land joined the Wofford basketball program staff as the Athletic Performance Coach on April 20, 2018.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with one of the most respected and successful coaches in all of college basketball,” said Land, upon his hire. “Coach Young already has Wofford competing year in and year out for Southern Conference championships, and I hope to give this program the edge it needs to makes some noise on the national stage. It feels great to be back in the Carolinas and I’m ready to hit the ground running with these guys!”

In addition to designing and implementing all the strength & conditioning for the team, Land will work directly with the basketball staff to assist with organizing and scheduling practices and travel to optimize the Terriers’ competitive advantage. Land will also work closely with the athletic training staff to monitor both year-around and in-season travel nutrition to assist the players with their body composition goals. Land will also assist the women’s basketball program.

“I am thrilled to bring David onto our staff as an Athletic Performance Coach with an emphasis on Strength & Conditioning,” said head coach Mike Young.  “This is an area of our program that I felt needed to be overhauled and David has already made a difference by his presence here.  He will also work with our women’s team and I know Coach Garrity is really excited to have a person excited, invested, and passionate about basketball, just as I am.”

Land comes to Wofford from Utah State where he spent the last season as the Director of Olympic Sport Strength and Conditioning.
