Biography

Part of the 2022-23 Regular Season Southern Conference Championship squad, the first-ever SoCon title for any Wofford women’s team sport.

CAREER: Played 107 games with 63 starts… Scored 887 points (8.3 ppg) with 451 rebounds (4.2 rpg), 209 assists, 37 blocks, and 88 steals… Shot 39.1 percent from the field with a 26.7 percent mark from three and a 73.2 free throw percentage… All-SoCon First Team selection in 2024-25… Three-time honoree on the SoCon All-Tournament Team, the most by any player in program history… SoCon All-Defensive Team selection in 2022-23… Earned SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week on December 12, 2022… Scored a game-winning basket at Western Carolina (2/13/25) with 1.1 seconds left… Member of the 2022-23 SoCon regular season championship team, the first conference title for any women’s team sport at Wofford.

2024-25: Started all 25 games played… Scored 288 points (11.5 ppg) with 123 rebounds (4.9 rpg), 13 blocks, 25 steals, and 55 assists… Shot 41.3 percent from the floor with a 90.4 free throw percentage… Second on the team in assists and third in scoring, rebounding, and steals… Led the team in blocks… Double-digit scoring 15 times with three 20-plus performances… Named to the All-Southern Conference First Team… Scored 15 points at NC Central (11/9) with four rebounds, two assists, one block, and three steals… Tallied 17 points against High Point (11/21) … Pulled down eight boards against UNC Asheville (11/26) before dropping 13 points against App State (12/7) … Narrowly missed a double-double at Lehigh (12/21) with 17 points and nine rebounds… Had 16 points with three steals against Furman (1/12) … Against Western Carolina (1/16), scored 24 points with seven rebounds, sparking a run of five-straight games in double figures… Added 20 points at Mercer (1/23) with seven boards… Notched 15 points at Samford (1/25), 10 against Chattanooga (1/30), and 15 against ETSU (2/1) to complete the streak… At Western Carolina (2/13), scored 16 points with eight boards and two steals while scoring the game winner with 1.1 on the clock… Had 10 points and five rebounds at UNCG (2/15) … In the Southern Conference Tournament, returned to court after missing three games with an elbow injury… Playing through the injury, which practically immobilized her left arm, she scored 20 points with five rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the opening round against Samford (3/6) … Against UNCG (3/7) in the semifinals, recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and a block… Named to the SoCon All-Tournament Team.

2023-24: Did not see action due to injury.

2022-23: Started 30 of 31 games played… Scored 301 points (9.7) per game with 163 rebounds (5.3 per game) … Added 57 assists, 40.3 percent shooting and 28 steals… Second in team in rebounds and assists… Led team in scoring three times, assists three times and rebounding 10 times… Named to Southern Conference All-Defensive Team and SoCon All-Tournament Team… Earned CSC Academic All-District and SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week (12/21) … Scored in double figures 13 times with two 20-balls and a double-double… Scored 15 points at High Point (11/19) with team-leading nine boards… Dished five assists to pace squad against UNC Wilmington (11/22) … Led team with nine rebounds against Southern Wesleyan (11/28) … Tied for team lead with 15 points at UNCG (1/14), scoring all 15 in the second half… Led team with 21 points off the bench at Mercer (1/16), shooting 8-of-14… Scored 16 points with nine boards in the regular season finale against Mercer (2/25) to help Wofford clinch the SoCon Regular Season Championship, also swatting career-high four blocks… In the SoCon Championship Game against Chattanooga (3/5), scored a career-high 25 points to lead the team… Tallied first-career double-double against Florida (3/16) in the WNIT with 10 points and career-high 12 boards, leading the team in rebounding and assists with four.

2021-22: Played in 28 games with two starts… Scored 157 points (5.6 ppg) alongside 92 rebounds (3.3 rpg), 48 assists and 21 steals… Third on team in blocks and assists… Led the team in scoring twice, assists seven times and rebounding twice… Opened the season with seven points against College of Charleston (11/9) … Made her two starts in the Preseason WNIT against NC State (11/12) and Towson (11/14) … Recorded 11 points against High Point (11/30) … Posted 14 points and eight boards with three steals and four assists against Brevard (12/8) … Secured eight rebounds and five assists against Erskine (1/1) … Scored 16 points at Samford (1/20) … Finished just shy of a double-double at UNCG (2/3) with 10 points and eight boards… Scored a career-high 23 points at Western Carolina (2/5) … Returned to play at Chattanooga (2/26) after missing three games due to injury, recording a career-high two blocks with four points and six rebounds.

2020-21:Played in 23 games with six starts ... Scored 141 points (6.1 ppg) along with 73 rebounds (3.2 rpg), 49 assists and 14 steals ... Started the season opener against Winthrop (11/25) and scored nine points with six rebounds ... At the College of Charleston (11/29) scored 11 points ... Added eight points at High Point (12/2) ... At Kentucky (12/19) had six points and five rebounds ... At Western Carolina had six rebounds in the first game (1/21) and six points in the second game (1/23) ... At UNC Greensboro (1/30) scored nine points with four rebounds ... Scored nine points against Chattanooga (2/6) with four rebounds ... At Mercer (2/21) scored ten points and had six rebounds ... At Furman (2/25) scored 11 points ... In the Southern Conference Tournament, had 16 points in the opening game against UNC Greensboro (3/4) and added five points in the semifinals against ETSU (3/5) ... Against Mercer (3/6) in the championship game had nine points and four rebounds ... Earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played all four years on her varsity team ... Represented the U17 New Zealand team in 2017 and 2018, the U18 New Zealand team in 2019 ... Played for the Canterbury representative team at the U15, U17, and U19 levels, and has been a part of the Mainland Eagles Academy since 2015 ... During her junior season she was named to Canterbury High School’s All-Star team ... As a senior she scored over 20 points per game and was once again named to the All-Star team.

PERSONAL:  Birthday is November 15... Daughter of Greg Matthews and Maureen Currie... Has three siblings, Alice, Edward and Joseph... Majoring in international affairs and sociology and anthropology.
