Hayley Ferrell

Assistant coach Hayley Ferrell is entering her second season with the Wofford women’s soccer team after joining the team for the 2014 season.

In her first season at Wofford in 2013, Ferrell started her mark as an assistant with the Terriers with a very successful year for the women's soccer program. The Terriers finished 8-5-6 overall and made their first appearance in the Southern Conference tournament since 2010. After defeating UNCG in penalty kicks in the first round, Wofford advanced to its first Southern Conference Championship Quarterfinals appearance since 2002. The successful season for the Terriers saw four players selected to All-Conference teams, including Maggie Bosley, who was only the third Wofford women's soccer player named to the first team since Hall of Famers Brigid Meadow (1997) and Heidi Best (1997 and 1998) earned their honors.

To add to a successful season in 2013, the Terriers had a fantastic defense that only allowed 0.63 goals against average for the season. The team's 0.55 goals against average against Southern Conference opponents was ranked first in the Conference. The players demonstrated great academic success as 12 players were named to the Fall 2013 Academic All-Southern Conference Team.

A native of McDonough, Georgia, Hayley has three years of prior coaching experience at the collegiate and club levels before joining the Terriers' staff. In 2008, she graduated from Georgia College and State University (GCSU) with a degree in mass communication.

Prior to Wofford, Hayley started coaching right after graduation. She started by coaching at Rockdale Youth Soccer Academy in Conyers, Georgia for two years. Then she coached for one year at Athens United club soccer in Athens, Georgia, and was an assistant coach for one season at Emmanuel College, an NAIA school in Franklin Springs, Georgia. She also was a part of the Georgia Revolution Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPSL) team during the summer of 2012.

While at GCSU, Ferrell played soccer for the Bobcats and was a four-year letterwinner. She holds numerous school records for a career with 41 goals, 92 points, and 16 game-winning goals. Her best season came in 2007 when she set a number of single-season school records scoring 16 goals, recording 32 points, taking 63 shots, and scored six game-winning goals.
