Matt Freibaum

Matt Freibaum is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Terriers. In his first season, the team posted a 7-12 overall record and won an opening round game in the Southern Conference Tournament.
    
He was an assistant for the men’s team at Stevenson University in 2018, with the team finished with an overall record of 12-9-1.  Freibaum worked extensively with the attacking players and was responsible for recruiting. He also has experience with training youth teams and individuals through United Soccer Coaching and Coerver Coaching as well as directing summer camps at various locations in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Severna Park High School and York Country Day School.
     
Freibaum was a three-year starter at York College, where he started 38 of 53 games played. As a senior in 2016, he led the team in points with 17 on five goals and seven assists. He earned a degree in behavior science from York in 2017. He played his first two collegiate seasons at Virginia Commonwealth University.
     
A native of New Market, Maryland, Freibaum was an All-State selection at Linganore High School.
