Nick St. Thomas

Nick St. Thomas enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Wofford volleyball staff. He was hired August 7, 2015.

St. Thomas’ primary responsbilities will be to serve as the recruiting coordinator and work with Wofford’s outside and right-side hitters.

“Nick is a tireless worker and has tremendous passion for the game,” said head coach Lynze Roos upon St. Thomas’ hire. “He’s a quick learner who is excited to be in the gym every day, and will continue to help Wofford volleyball attract outstanding talent from across the country.”

Most recently, St. Thomas served as a volunteer assistant coach on Roos’ staff at Lynn University. Among his many responsibilites at Lynn, St. Thomas was in charge of video and statistical upkeep.

His coaching experience also branches to the club and high school levels. St. Thomas was the head coach of Broward Wildfire Volleyball Club from 2013-15, coaching ages 13-17. Over that same two-year span, he was also the varsity assistant and head junior varsity coach at Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches, Florida, and also spent time as a volunteer coach with club the team, Florida High Performance.

St. Thomas’ playing career included the men’s club volleyball team at the University of Central Florida, as well as volleyball powerhouse Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School. He played for two years as libero and defensive specialist at UCF. In high school, he led his team to three appearances in the finals of the state tournament and was named First Team All-Broward County. St. Thomas also served as Archbishop Edward McCarthy’s team captain.

St. Thomas graduated cum laude from the University of Central Florida in 2013 with a degree in history. He currently resides in Spartanburg.
