Bill Bailey joined the Terrier staff in the summer of 2024 as director of compliance. He previously spent four years in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
He oversees NCAA, Southern Conference and Wofford regulatory issues for all Terrier student-athletes. This includes interpreting NCAA regulations and monitoring recruiting, financial aid and eligibility issues, along with Name, Image and Likeness regulations. He also has secondary sport oversight of men’s and women’s soccer.
While with the State’s Attorney’s Office, he worked with the traffic division, first municipal division, presiding judges office and the felony review unit. He also had experience at Nielsen, Zehe & Antas and Huck Bouma, P.C.
As a student at the University of Alabama, he worked in the athletic department primarily in academic advising for student-athletes.
He graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Alabama in 2017. He received his Juris Doctor in 2021 from the University of Illinois College of Law.
