Dustin Royston

Dustin Royston joined the Wofford coaching staff in February of 2025. He will work with the outside linebackers and coordinate the special teams units.
   
In 2024 he was the linebackers coach and defensive run game coordinator at Murray State University.
   
Royston was on the staff at Middle Tennessee for seven seasons, competing in four different bowl games. In 2022, he worked with the linebackers and added special teams coordinator duties in 2023. Sam Brumfield was named second team All-CUSA in 2023 after leading the team in tackles. From 2018-21 he was the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. In 2021 the Blue Raider defense led the nation in turnovers gained (32) and defensive touchdowns (6). Jordan Ferguson was a second team all-conference pick in 2021, while in 2018 three players had honorable mention All-CUSA recognition. During the 2017 season he was a graduate assistant with the Blue Raiders, with a focus on the defensive front.
   
He spent two seasons in an off-field role at the University of Alabama, working with the outside linebackers and defensive ends. In 2015, the total defense was third in the nation as the team was SEC champions, Cotton Bowl champions, and national champions. In 2016 the total defense was first in the nation and the team won the SEC championship and the Peach Bowl before falling in the national title game. He worked with NFL draft picks Tim Williams, Ryan Anderson, Christian Miller, Jamey Mosley, Terrell Lewis, and Anfernee Jennings.
   
A native of Royston, Georgia, he played at the University of Georgia as a fullback and on special teams. He earned degrees in international affairs and political science from Georgia in 2012. In 2025 he added a masters in education from Lipscomb University.
