Women's Soccer Welcomes 12

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford women's soccer coach Amy Kiah announced the signing of 12 players on Tuesday. The class includes one Goalkeeper, four defenders, one defender/midfielder, four midfielders, one forward and one defender/forward.

"We're are so excited to have the class of 2022 join the Terrier family," Said Kiah. "This group of players adds another layer of depth and overall speed and athleticism to the team. They are a great group of student-athletes who will excel both in the classroom and on the soccer field."

13281Lainee Bonannon, Defender/Forward, Chattanooga, Tenn. – A four year starter at The Baylor School where she also played lacrosse and ran track…Helped her team reach the state finals during her sophomore and senior seasons and won the state title during her senior season…Was a two-time team captain while being selected to the All-State team twice and All-Region team three times…Tallied 20 goals and 13 assists in her high school career…Member of Alliance FC ECNL.
 





13283Katie Gilligan, Defender/Midfielder, Kent, England – Starting defender for the Millwall Lionesses developmental team…Was named Managers player of the year for both the 2016-2017 and 2015-2016 seasons…In January of 2017, made her debut for the Millwall Lionesses 1st team…Represented Kent at both youth and women's level, winning the league and reaching the Inter-County Cup Finals at the youth level…Played in the FA Youth Cup in consecutive seasons…Has competed in the Women's Super League 2/WSL Developmental League (Southern Division), second highest Women's Soccer league in England…Was also named to the FA Girls' England Talent pathway U17's…In 2015-2016 member of the U17 squad as part of the Center of Excellence.
 




13286Marta Izquierdo, Defender, Madrid, Spain – A five year member of Madrid CFF where she helped her team to consecutive Spanish Soccer League & Cup championships in 2014-15 & 2015-16…As a member of the U-16 team, she won the Domestic Cup and the UEFA Lennart Johansson trophy…Was a member of the Madrid All-Region Team that finished runner up in the national tournament.
 






13285Karen Majewski, Defender, Charleston, S.C. – A four year starter at Wando High School where she helped her team to two state championships and one runner-up finish…Was named All-State and All-Region in her senior season while being named to the North-South All-Star game...Member of SSC Freedom 99.
 






13287Maria Mon, Goalkeeper, Armunia, Leon – A ten year member of Puente Castro F.C. in Leon...Has played in the Leon Futbol Femeninio for three seasons while being selected to the national team seven times…During her 2015-16 & 2016-17 seasons she surrendered the fewest goals in the league…Currently plays in the second division of the Leon FF.
 






13288Anna Opgaard, Midfielder, Alta, Norway – A three year starting midfielder for the club Bossekop UL in 2nd Division Senior Level...Has been invited to train with the First team who plays in the 1st Division…In her sophomore year she did an exchange year in Pennsylvania where she played for Saucon Valley High School…During the 2016-2017 season at Saucon Valley, Anna was named to the All-Area, All-State team, and Pennsylvania All-Star team…She also participated in Lacrosse, and was nominated for Athlete of the year in both soccer and lacrosse…Playing her final season back with her club Bossekop UL, she has recorded 2 goals and 4 assists in the first few games of the season at the defensive midfield position.
 




13289Carmen Pavao, Midfielder, Watkinsville, Ga. – A three year starter at Oconee County High School in her first three seasons…Helped her team win back-to-back Region 3A championships while finishing in the Elite 8 in 2015 and 2017…Has scored 35 goals in three seasons while being named the 2016 Best Offensive Player and First Team 3A All-Region…Was named to the Athens Banner Herald First Team All-Area and Second Team 3A All-Region in 2017…Member of the Athens United SA 99.
 





13290Elizabeth Sutton, Midfielder, Greenville, S.C. – A three year starter at Wren High School where she helped her team to three straight region championships and an appearance in the upstate finals…Has scored 85 goals while tallying 49 assists in just three seasons…Played on the South Carolina ODP team from 2011-14 while leading her club team to a state championship in 2013…Was named All Region 3AAA Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016…Also named Region 1 4AAAA All-Region Player of the Year and All State 4AAAA...Member of CESA 99 ECNL.
 





13291Caroline Thompson, Midfielder, White Plains, N.Y. – A four year starter at St. Luke's School in New Canaan, Connecticut where she helped her team reach the New England Prep School Athletic Council semi-finals in back-to-back seasons…As the captain during her junior season she led the team in assists while being named to the All-Conference teams during her sophomore and junior seasons…Member of New York SC DA.
 






13292Savannah Vathy, Forward, San Antonio, TX. – A four year letter winner at Robert E. Lee High School where she helped her team reach the mid-district playoffs in 2016…Was a two year captain and was named to the conference All-Tournament team…Selected to the Academic All-District team and the Academic All-State team…Has recorded 48 goals and 23 assists in her career…Member of Classics Elite SA ECNL.
 






13293Lauren Waldrop, Defender, Atlanta, Ga. – A three year starter at Union Grove High School…Helped reach the State playoffs in two consecutive seasons while scoring 40 goals and tallying 13 assists in her career….Was named the freshman of the year in 2015 while being named to the Girls All-Region First Team in 2017…Member of BUSA 00 ECNL.
 







13294Meghan Waninger, Defender, Marlton, N.J. – A four year member of the Cherokee High School soccer team…Was a three year starter while being named to the All-Conference team in 2016 & 2017…Was named to the All South Jersey Team in 2017 and was named a Top 20 player in the state…Participated in the 2017 All South Jersey All Start game as well as being nominated for the Regional All-America Team...Was a member of Cherry Hill FC from 2010-14 where she was a two year captain...Current member of PSC Coppa Falcons and was team captain in 2016 and 2017...
