Women’s Soccer Faces Setback in Conference Opener at Western Carolina

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina's Caitlyn Bradham sunk the game-winner in the 55th minute for the Catamounts on Friday night, as the Wofford Terriers faced a setback in their Southern Conference opener, 3-0, at the Catamount Athletics Complex.

The Terriers remained solid on defense through the first half, entering the second half at a draw. Ten minutes into the second half, Bradham would tuck home the game-winner on an assist from Mackenzie Cole for her third score of the season.

Western Carolina would strike again nine minutes later, with Bradham assisting Kelly Pannell for her second goal of the season. Haven Leland solidified the Catamount win in the 77th for her first goal of the season.

Tonight's loss marks the fifth straight for the Terriers after starting the season on a three-game winning streak. Senior Shonte Campbell filled in at keeper in the absence of Kara Boggs and Alex Carroll. The Terriers were outshot 13-2 in the away-game loss.

The women's soccer team will continue their road trip, travelling to Johnson City, Tennessee, to take on the high-powered offense of Eastern Tennessee State in their second Southern Conference match. The match is slated for 4 p.m.
