Molly Mayo, the Wofford volleyball team defeated South Carolina State in non-conference action (25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 25-21) Tuesday night at Dukes Gymnasium.

The win improves to Terriers 11-11, getting their record back to .500 for the first time since September 19 when they were 7-7. Wofford has won four of its last five matches, including three of its last four in Southern Conference play.

The Terriers recovered from a second set in which they hit .069 to get the win in four sets. A 5-0 run pushed Wofford up 14-9 to spread the gap in the third and the Terriers hit .364 to overpower South Carolina State (2-13) in the fourth.

Holland led the offensive charge, hitting .310 to earn her team-high 11 kills. Sophomore outside
Bella Santoro had nine kills, as did freshman middle
Colleen Reilly. Sophomore middle
Danni Densford hit a team-best .500 with seven kills on 10 attempts. Reilly and Santoro went up for a team-high three blocks.

Mayo targeted her sophomore outsides 29 times each and earned a match-high 39 assists. She completed her team-leading ninth double-double with 10 digs. Senior libero
Jessica Graham went for a match-high 19 digs.

Wofford ended the match outhitting South Carolina State .211 to .176. SCSU's Brianna Dafney hit .206 and had 12 kills to lead all players. Krirby Anderson hit a team-best .375 with eight kills.

Wofford returns to Southern Conference play with two road matches this weekend. The trip begins Friday against UNCG (2-3 SoCon) at 5 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. match on Saturday at ETSU (4-1 SoCon).
