SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Women's basketball senior guard
Jordan Frazier scored a season-high 19 points to help Wofford beat the Bluefield College (Va.) Rams 69-58 Sunday afternoon in Benjamin Johnson Arena.

Frazier had 10 of her points in the first half, including a three-point play to end the half. She finished the game shooting 6-9 from the field, 3-5 on three pointers and 4-4 in free throw attempts.

Bluefield (5-8, 1-4 AAC) jumped out to a 23-14 lead in the first period, but the Terriers (2-7) slowly climbed back into the game in the second period, going on a 14-6 to take a 30-29 lead with 1:17 left in the period. Forward
Kentra Washington had nine of the team's 14 points during the run.

After Frazier's three-point play, the Terriers ended the half with a 33-29 lead. The two teams traded buckets to start the third period until Wofford's
Ashton Fleming sank a free throw with 6:25 left in the period, giving the Terriers a lead they would not relinquish.

Washington then hit a fast-break layup on the Terriers next possession, and then guard
Chloe Wanink hit a three to give the Terriers a 44-39 lead.

Bluefield would cut the deficit down to as low as two in the fourth period, but Frazier hit a three to start a Terrier 10-0 run that Bluefield could not recover.

"I thought we shook off the rust of exams after a sluggish first quarter," Head Coach
Edgar I. Farmer, Jr., said after the game. "I thought we came out with great energy after that. We had to respond because Bluefield came out with a lot of energy, but I'm really proud of the way the girls played together. We made the extra pass and gave up good shots for great shots today. It was a great team effort."

Frazier also had two rebounds, four assists and four steals to go with her 19 points in the game. Washington finished with 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds along with two assists and one steal.

Terrier guard
Maria Corella also chipped in 10 points, shooting 4-6 from the field and 2-4 from three. Wanink had seven points and tied her career-highs with five rebounds and two assists.

Rams guard Danae Cox led Bluefield offensively with 13 points while grabbing five rebounds. Guard Shelby Key contributed 11 points, while forward Deneysha Goods had a game-high nine rebounds.

The Terriers for the game shot a season-best 44.4 percent from the field while holding Bluefield to 35.5 percent from the floor. The Rams did outrebound Wofford 41-35 and outscored the Terriers in the paint 26-24.

The Terriers had the advantage however from their bench, doubling Bluefield's bench scoring output 26-13. The Terriers also won the turnover battle 14-16, and scored 18 points off Bluefield turnovers.

With the win, the Terriers move to 6-0 all-time against Bluefield. Wofford is also on a two-game home winning streak with two more home games slated for the upcoming week.

Coach Farmer said there are things to learn for the upcoming games later this week.

"We got to fix the little things," Coach Farmer said. "We know we got a lot of games coming up here. We just have to be more precise. We have a tough challenge on Tuesday and then on Friday, but we have to take it one game at a time. We are going to watch the film from this, get better and get ready for Tuesday."

Wofford continues its home stand over the holiday break on Tuesday when North Carolina Central travels to the BenJo for a 3 p.m. contest as part of Wofford's Holiday Hoops week slate.
