CLINTON, S.C. – It was a clean sweep for the Wofford volleyball team on Wednesday night at the Templeton Center, as the Terriers hit .351 and outblocked Presbyterian 8-2 for their first win of the season (25-20, 25-22, 25-18).

The Terriers (1-3) were only ever troubled in the second set. Trailing 18-14, they went on an 11-4 run to close it out, earning set point on a
Lauren Miller slam and winning the set off a block by sophomores
Danni Densford and
Bella Santoro.

The third set was put away early. Tied at 5, Wofford rolled off five straight points on sophomore
Alex Holland's serve and never trailed again. The lead extended to as many as eight before Miller topped off a feel-good night for the Terriers.

The win was the first of head coach
Lynze Roos' Wofford and NCAA Div. I coaching careers.

"I was happy to see us play with composure and control the match start to finish," said Roos, who compiled 164 coaching victories in nine seasons at Lynn University. "PC put some pressure on us and we handled it well. We minimized the errors, which was an improvement from last weekend, and we served aggressively."

Wofford registered a season-high eight aces, while Presbyterian (1-3) had just three aces to go with six service errors. The Terriers outdueled PC in every other statistical category, as well, recording more kills, more assists, more blocks and a higher hitting percentage.

Santoro and Miller led the attack, posting a match-high 10 kills apiece. Miller's 10 marked a career-high and Santoro added 10 digs for her second double-double of the year. Meanwhile, Holland continued her scorching pace to start the season, hitting .533 with nine kills to up her season percentage to a team-high .363. Jessica Graham led all players with 11 digs.

For PC, Samantha Del Toro and Sierra Davis earned nine kills each. Del Toro's came at a more effective .312 pace, while Ashton Stewart hit .316 with seven kills and Martina Shamley hit .400 with five kills.

Wofford travels to Jacksonville, Alabama for its next set of matches, competing in a tournament hosted by Jacksonville State this Friday and Saturday. The Terriers will compete against host JSU, UL-Monroe, Alcorn State and Alabama A&M, beginning with ULM on Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
