GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wofford men's soccer team scored late in the second half to win, 1-0, over UNCG on Saturday night in Greensboro.
 
After earning a corner kick in the 71
st minute, freshman 
Dredon Kelly headed in the game winner from 
Kevin Davidsson to give the Terriers a much needed conference road win.
 
With the victory, the Terriers snap a season-long three game losing streak and improve to 4-4 in Southern Conference play.
 
The Spartans controlled possession throughout the first half, outshooting the Terriers, 7-2. However, Wofford was sound defensively and kept the game scoreless going into the break.
 
Joe Wichmann registered two saves in the opening period.
 
In the second half, the Terriers began to take control of the game, creating numerous chances throughout the early stages of the period.
 
Then, in the 71
st minute, Wofford earned a corner that was taken by Davidsson, who bent his kick into the box perfectly, as Kelly was able to find space and put a header into the back of the net to give the Terriers the lead. For Kelly, it marked the first goal of the season and his first as a Terrier. Davidsson earned his third assist of the season, good for second on the team. Also, this game marked the second this season Davidsson has assisted on the game winner off a corner kick. He previously assisted 
Lucas Altman's game winner at Furman on Oct. 8.
 
For the final 18 minutes, the Terriers played solid defense and even came close to adding a second goal, as 
Andreas Suri's shot from 30 yards out was repelled by the post.
 
Overall, Wofford outshot UNCG, 10-8, in the second half. 
Sam Ross led the Terriers in shot attempts with three, while Wichmann added four saves in the win.
 
Up next, the Terriers will take on VMI on the road next Tuesday, Oct. 25. at 4 p.m.
