BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Wofford volleyball team fell 3-0 at Samford on Wednesday evening. The match was the final conference match of the regular season for the Terriers. With the loss Wofford falls to 17-14 overall and 9-7 in Southern Conference play while Samford improves to 18-12 on the season and 9-6 in conference action with the win. The nine conference wins ties a Wofford record for most conference wins in a season and is the most since that record was set in 2001.
 
Samford won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-13, respectively, before clinching the match with a 25-18 win in the third set. Samford hit .347 for the match while holding Wofford to .153 on the night.
 
Freshman Catie Cronister led the offensive attack for Wofford. The outsider hitter from Chicago finished with 11 kills and hit .156 in the match. She also recorded six digs. Kara Shacklette hit .583 for the match with seven kills and two block assists.
 
Setter Lorissa King tallied 23 assists while libero Madeline Savage led the defensive effort with 16 digs.
 
Wofford concludes the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. against SC State in Wofford's Benjamin Johnson Arena before competing in the Southern Conference tournament Nov. 19- Nov. 21 in Birmingham.
