CONWAY, S.C. – The Wofford women's soccer team fell to Costal Carolina 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in their second game of the season.
The Chanticleers began the scoring midway through the first half, when Kayla Christian tallied her first goal of the season. Wofford battled back, generating a scoring chance when
Hannah Washko's shot attempt went just high++. For the rest of the half, the Terriers played strong defense and kept the score 1-0 going into the break.
However, Coastal Carolina added two more goals in the second half to take a 3-0 before Alexis Magruder scored on a penalty kick late in the 74
th minute to conclude the scoring.

Alex Carroll (0-2) totaled four saves on the afternoon, a season high. Forward
Hayley Younginer attempted two shots, which led the team. Â

Emma Fletcher took the other three shots for the Terriers.
For the game, the Terriers notched season highs in shots (five) and corner kicks (four). Also, 20 Wofford players saw action in the contest, with 19 playing at least 10 minutes.
Up next, Wofford will open up its home schedule on Wednesday, August 24, a day earlier than was originally scheduled, as they host UNC-Asheville at 7 P.M.
