DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Wofford women's soccer team was defeated, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon against Davidson.
The Terriers fought hard to keep the game scoreless through the first 70 minutes, but the Wildcats broke through in the 73
rd minute and added two more late goals to put the game away.
Despite the loss, Terrier goalkeeper 
Alex Carroll notched a season high seven saves. On the offensive side, 
Hayley Younginer and 
Katie Beuerlein tied for the team lead in shots attempted with two. Younginer earned the team's first penalty kick of the season, but her well struck attempt was saved by Davidson keeper Becca Ravitz.
The first half was evenly played, as both teams attempted six shots but failed to capitalize on the scoring opportunities they created. Wofford's best chance to take the lead came in the 42
nd minute, but Younginer's PK was saved to keep the game scoreless at the break.
In the second half, the Wildcats began to take control, as Maggie Boyd's header found the back of the net in the 73
rd minute gave Davidson a 1-0. After that, the Wildcats tacked on two more goals late in the second half to give them a comfortable 3-0 lead that stood the rest of the way.
Up next, Wofford will stay on the road, as they take on South Carolina State Sunday, Sept. 4 at 1 P.M.
