SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's basketball team fell to rival Furman, 69-49, at Benjamin Johnson Arena.

After leading by one at the half, the Paladins used their league best defense to spark a 20-2 run and put the game out of reach.

The loss is the Terriers' first in SoCon play, while the Paladins remain perfect at 3-0. It is also snaps Wofford's program record eight game home winning streak.

Chloe Wanink led the Terriers in scoring, pouring in 17 points on 4-6 from three point range. She also added five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Senior point guard
Sarah Traynor added a career high eight assists.
Maria Corella delivered 14 points and was the only other Terrier to reach double figures in scoring.
Grayson Pinholster finished two points shy of another double-double, tallying eight points and 12 rebounds.

Point guard Whitney Bunn led the Paladins with 23 points and six assists. Cierra Carter also reached 20 points, delivering 21 to go with seven boards.

Wofford started the game off on fire from the field, as they scored the game's first 11 points and took an 18-15 lead into the second quarter.

However, from that point on, Furman was able to control the pace. The Paladins held the Terriers to just two second quarter field goals to take a one-point advantage into the break.

Out of halftime, the Paladins strong defense allowed them to stretch their lead to 20 points heading into the final quarter.

Wanink hit all three of her three point attempts in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to threaten, as Furman held a comfortable lead to the final buzzer.
