DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – The Wofford women's tennis team fell, 5-2, to Bethune-Cookman on Thursday afternoon in Daytona Beach.

The loss drops the Terriers to 2-2 on the season.

The Wildcats took the doubles point after a pair of 6-2 wins.

In singles play,
Cassidy Hicks provided a strong effort from the no. 2 spot, as she won her match, 6-2, 7-5. The win improves Hicks to 2-2 on the season from the no. 2 position in singles.

Despite falling in three sets, both
Lauren Reid and
Taylor Carlson put up strong efforts for the Terriers. Playing in the no. 4 position, Reid rallied to win a second set tiebreak to force a third set. The third set also ended up in a tiebreak, but this time, Bethune-Cookman's Alejandra Vidal took the tiebreaker, 13-11, to clinch the match.

In the no. 5 position,
Taylor Carlson lost the first set tiebreak, 8-4, before responding by winning the second set, 6-3. However, the Wildcats once again took the third set, as Karen Romero was able to win the match, 7-6 (4-8), 3-6, 7-5.
