CHARLESTON, S.C. – After losing the opening set, the Wofford volleyball team rebounded to win the next three to down The Citadel 3-1 on Wednesday night. With the win, Wofford improves to 18-8 on the season and moves to 8-4 in the Southern Conference, while The Citadel falls to 8-20 overall and 2-9 in conference action. The Terriers have won three matches in a row and have already bested last year's win total.

Wofford dropped the first set 30-32, the longest set Wofford has played all season. The Terriers rebounded nicely and won the next three sets 25-23, 25-19 and 25-20 to win the match. Wofford won both meetings with the Bulldogs this season.

"We had to battle for points tonight against a Citadel team who really pressured us defensively," said head coach Lynze Roos. "We struggled with our serve receive early on, and they made it tough for us to score. This was a tough win and gives us a lot to focus on going into the last road weekends of the season."

Three Terrier recorded double-digit kills, three players earned double-doubles, and five players finished with double-digit digs in the win. Catie Cronister led Wofford with 23 kills, her ninth match this season with atleast 20 kills and the second in a row. Cronister hit .255 and added 15 digs to earn her 10th double-double of the season and second consecutive.

Colleen Reilly notched 19 kills and hit .441 in the win. The junior had finished with atleast 13 kills in the last three matches and is averaging a hitting percentage of .443 in the same span. Reilly added one solo block and four block assists at the net.

"I'm really proud of how Colleen stepped up in the end of sets to stop their attack, and she really had some key swings," added Roos. "She continues to convert in key moments for us."

Bijonae Jones followed with 10 kills. The junior added 10 digs on the defensive end to earn a double-double, her fifth of the year. Jones hit .360 in the match, her highest hitting percentage all season.

Setter Lorissa King also tallied a double-double, her third of the season and second in a row. The sophomore recorded 49 assists and 15 digs. Taylor Gill was the fourth Terrier to finish with double-digit digs. The libero from Madison, Ala. had a match high 18 digs, while teammate Madeline Savage also helped the effort from the back row with 11 digs, her second consecutive match with double-digit digs.

"Taylor was all over the floor tonight," noted Roos. "She gave us some hustle plays that don't show up in the stats."
