CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Wofford volleyball team fell 1-3 at Western Carolina on Friday night at the Ramsey Center. With the loss, Wofford, who had won three in a row entering the contest, falls to 18-9 on the season, and 8-5 in Southern Conference play. Western Carolina improves to 10-16 overall and 5-8 in conference action. With the Catamounts' win tonight, the teams split the regular season meetings.
Western Carolina won the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-21, respectively. The Terriers rallied back to win the third set, 25-22, and forced a fourth set. The Catamounts won the fourth set 25-18 to upset the Terriers, who entered the match ranked third in the conference.
Despite the loss, four Terriers hit finished with double-digit kills. Riley Coonan led the way with 15 kills, tying a season and career high, as the freshman hit a team high .379 in the match. Juniors

Bijonae Jones each recorded 13 kills. Jones added 12 digs to record her sixth double-double this season and second consecutive.
Catie Cronister recorded her 11
th double-double and third in a row, finishing with 10 kills and 13 digs. However, the Catamounts held Cronister, the SoCon Offensive Player of the Month for October, to a -.075 hitting percentage, her lowest hitting percentage all season.
Libero Taylor Gill led the defensive effort with 24 digs. Setter
Lorissa King, had a nice night and finished with 49 assists, her second consecutive match with 49 assists. She added eight digs to finish just shy of a double-double.
Western Carolina hit .253 in the match and held Wofford to .128 including hitting percentages of .028, .070, and .083 in the three sets the Catamounts' won.
Wofford has a quick turnaround, returning to action Saturday, Nov. 4 at UNCG. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Wofford edged the Spartans in a close five setter in the Oct. 6 meeting in Spartanburg.
