CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team dropped a road match, 5-2, to Charlotte on Friday afternoon.

The loss drops the Terriers to 6-4 on the season, including a second straight road loss.

The 49ers grabbed the momentum early on with a 6-0 win in the no. 3 doubles position, before clinching the point with a 6-2 win in the no. 1 doubles spot.

With the 1-0 lead heading into singles, Charlotte took the first singles match, 6-1, 6-2, in the no. 5 position. However, the Terriers responded with
Catherine Martin's 6-3, 6-3, win in the no. 1 position over Charlotte's Tai Martin.

Unfortunately for the Terriers, the 49ers rebounded by winning three of the remaining four singles matches to earn the 5-2 victory.
Curran Carver delivered another win from the no. 6 slot, as she dispatched Megan Smith, 6-3, 7-5 to improve her singles record to 5-2

Despite losses, both
Cassidy Hicks and
Lauren Reid rallied to win the second set after dropping the first. Both fell in the deciding third set to give the 49ers wins in the no. 2 and no. 4 singles positions.

Up next, the Terriers return home to host North Greenville this Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.
