SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team swept a doubleheader on Saturday, defeating Savannah State, 6-0, before taking down Emmanuel College, 7-0.

The Terriers are now 5-2 on the season, including a 3-0 record at home. The team has also won three straight matches.

"I'm really proud of the way the girls played today," head coach
Krissy Hall said. "We will look to carry our momentum into our match tomorrow."

In the team's first match against Savannah State, the Terriers took the doubles point easily, after
Catherine Martin and
Lauren Reid won their match, 6-0, in the no. 2 position.

With a 1-0 lead heading into singles play, Wofford continued the momentum, with both
Taylor Carlson and
Lauren Reid winning every game on the way to 6-0, 6-0 wins in the no. 4 and 5 spots.

In the no. 2 and 3 positions,
Kalli Karas and
Cassidy Hicks also rolled to easy victories, with Hicks winning, 6-2, 6-1, and Karas cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

In the team's second match of the day, against Emmanuel College (Ga.), the Terriers cruised to another easy victory.

Wofford easily took home the doubles point, even winning all three matches. The team clinched the point when
Catherine Martin and
Lauren Reid won from the no. 2 position, 6-2.

The Terriers also excelled in singles play agains the Lions, winning all six of their matches. In the no. 5 spot,
Taylor Carlson quickly took care of her opponent, winning, 6-0, 6-1.
Kalli Karas also won 6-0, 6-1, from the no. 3 position.
Curran Carver was especially impressive, as she did not drop a game en route to a 6-0, 6-0 win in the no. 6 slot.

Catherine Martin also picked up a win at no. 1, defeating the Lions' Fontine Botella, 6-1, 6-4.

Up next, the Terriers will be back in action tomorrow, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m, as they host King University (Tenn.).
