SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's basketball team never trailed once in the contest, picking up a 106-52 blowout win against Brevard on Wednesday afternoon at Richardson Indoor Stadium. Wofford was lights out from the field, shooting 56.5 percent for the contest, including going 10-of-20 (50%) from beyond the arc. The Terriers head into the holiday break undefeated at home (5-0), as the win moves Wofford to 7-6 overall.

The Terriers finished the fall semester undefeated at home for the first time since the 1992-93 season, where Wofford also went 5-0 in the old Benjamin Johnson Arena. The finish is a first under head coach
Jimmy Garrity and in Richardson Indoor Stadium.

The Terriers also eclipsed 100+ points scoring three times in the fall semester for the first time in program history.

Redshirt-junior
Chloe Wanink led all four double-figure scorers with a game-high 31 points, on 13-of-15 shooting, in just 12 minutes of action. Wanink went 5-of-7 (71.4%) from deep, pushing her to fourth all-time in career 3-point field goals made (123). Freshman
Jackie Carman followed with 21 points, going 4-for-7 from 3-point range, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Freshmen
Niyah Lutz and
Elena Pulanco saw career-highs in the contest, as Lutz finished with 18 points (7-11 FG, 1-3 3FG), two assists, and three steals. Pulanco recorded 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, and three steals in a season-high 30 minutes.

Freshman
Alexis Tomlin provided solid minutes off the bench, earning a career-high seven points and 10 rebounds in 15 minutes, while freshman
MaryMartha Turner (six points, 12 rebounds, three assists, four steals) and sophomore
Jamari McDavid (six points, three steals) also gave solid efforts for Wofford.

The Terriers jumped out to an 18-9 lead, behind 14 points from Wanink and two
Jamari McDavid layups, by the halfway mark of the first quarter. Both teams would exchange baskets, as Brevard's Annalee Bollinger would score nine consecutive points to bring the score within seven, 28-21, with 1:46 left. Scores from
MaryMartha Turner and
Niyah Lutz followed before
Elena Pulanco would put on a show with a razzle-dazzle crossover on a Brevard defender to convert an and-1 (35-21) seconds before the quarter's end.

Wofford would only allow Brevard eight points in the second quarter, as the Terriers busted out a 17-7 run that was highlighted by Wanink's 11 points throughout the frame. Wofford held a 52-29 lead at the half, shooting an impressive 61.8 percent from the field on 21-of-34 attempts. The Terriers forced 17 turnovers in the first half, while holding a 17-7 edge in rebounds.

The Terriers never looked back coming out the intermission, as Wanink immediately started the half with two trey balls. Consecutive 3-pointers by Lutz and
Jackie Carman would give the Terriers a 34-point lead, 74-41, at the 2:07 mark, before the duo would eventually score consecutive baskets again to end the quarter at 78-43.

Wofford cruised through the fourth quarter, seeing seven points from
Elena Pulanco and
Alexis Tomlin, as a Carman fast break layup at 2:09 would give the Terriers its largest lead of the day, 103-48. The Terriers would control play for the ensuing two minutes to earn the 106-52 victory at the end of regulation.

The Terriers held Brevard to 17-of-46 shooting (37%) from the field, though, the Tornados went 9-of-25 (36%) from beyond the arc. Brevard was led by Annalee Bollinger with 14 points and two assists, while Ty'She Washington followed with nine points and four assists.

Wofford outrebounded the Tornados, 37-21, while forcing 30 turnovers for the contest for the second time this season. The Terriers also assisted on 21 makes, marking the third time this season that Wofford has finished a contest with 20+ assists.

The Terriers will return from the holiday break traveling to face ACC foe Georgia Tech on Sunday, December 30, scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip off.
