CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Wofford volleyball team opened conference play on Friday, falling to Chattanooga on the road in five sets (25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 18-25, 9-15). Led by Catie Cronister's 14 kills, the Terriers totaled 52 kills to the Mocs' 51, but could not stall the Chattanooga attack down the stretch. 

After the Mocs cut the deficit to just two (15-13), Wofford reeled off six points in a row, propelling the team to a first-set victory. In the second set, Wofford held a one-point lead before going on another 6-0 run to make the score 20-17, ultimately taking a 2-0 lead in the match. 

The third set was all Chattanooga as the Mocs took a 7-6 lead and never trailed the rest of the set. Trailing by five in the fourth set, the Terriers scored four in a row to make the score 18-17 in favor of Chattanooga, but the Mocs closed out the set on a 7-1 run to even the match at two sets apiece.

The momentum was all Chattanooga as the Mocs led the entire way in the fifth set, taking the contest three sets to two. 

Falling to 7-7, Wofford travels to Samford on Saturday to face the Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
