SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by UNC Greensboro on Sunday afternoon at Snyder Field. The Spartans tallied the game winner at the 77-minute mark.
Wofford is now 4-8 on the season, falling to 1-3 in SoCon play. UNCG is 6-6-1 overall and 3-1 in the league. Overall the Spartans had an 18-3 advantage in shots. The Terriers had shots by

Caroline Thompson and
Karen Majewski.
Maria Mon had nine saves in the Wofford goal.
The first shot of the game was by the Spartans ten minutes into the match.
Caroline Thompson had a shot saved with 12:52 on the clock in the first half. After several shots by UNCG,
Karen Majewski hit the cross bar at the 33:39 mark. The Spartans had the final three shots of the half.
In the second half, the Spartans had five shots in the first ten minutes of play including one that hit the cross bar. With 77:09 on the clock Grace Kennedy scored with an assist by Cienna Rideout to give UNCG a 1-0 lead. Three minutes later the ball was loose in the box, but the Terriers could not capitalize.
Next, the Terriers remain at home on Friday, October 13 to host Western Carolina at 7:00 p.m. at Snyder Field. On Sunday, October 15, the Terriers will host East Tennessee State at 2:00 p.m. in the final home game of the regular season.
