Spartanburg, SC – The Wofford women's basketball team is set to begin their 40^th season as they will start their schedule with an away matchup against Auburn on Wednesday, tipoff at 7:00 p.m. The Terriers have no previous history with the SEC school, as Wofford will look to win back-to-back season openers since they won three straight from 2004-2006.

The Terriers are looking to add on from last season, which saw them finish with their fifth best season in program history. Their 16-15 overall record was their first winning record since the 2001-02 season, going 7-7 in conference play matched their highest conference winning percentage in program history, and their home record of 12-1 marked second-best in program history.

Wofford returns 4 out of 5 starters from last year including, Cairo Booker, Jamari McDavid, Preseason All-SoCon team selection Da'Ja Green, and SoCon Preseason Player of the Year, Chloe Wanink. The addition of freshman forward Lilly Hatton will also bolster the Terriers backcourt.

The Terriers are projected to finish second in the conference according to the preseason coaches' poll, and for good reason too. Not only does having the SoCon Preseason Player of the Year strike fear into opponents, Wofford has the highest points per game, assists per game, and three-point percentage, versus their opponents this season, according to last year's statistics.

Wofford will continue the start of their season with two more road games against Wisconsin (November 10) and Gardner-Webb (November 14), before coming back to Spartanburg for the home opener versus Coastal Carolina (November 17) at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
