Spartanburg, S.C. – The Wofford women's basketball team found depth scoring to be a key success in their win over Bob Jones, taking care of the Bruins 89-38. The win brings Wofford's record to 4-6 and the loss sends Bob Jones to 3-7.
The 1

Chloe Wanink kicked it off with a 3-pointer just six seconds into the game.
Cairo Booker sank her own triple a minute later to give Wofford an early 6-2 lead. Wanink splashed another trey to send the terriers off and running. A 14-3 run capped off by
Jamari McDavid's fast break layup gave the Terriers a 22-9 lead at the media timeout.
Niyah Lutz showed off her range as she nailed a three and a running jumper to tack on to the Terrier run.
Alexis Tomlin and
Elena Pulanco got in on the action as they both made free-throws to make it a 30-12 game at the end of the quarter.
The 2
nd quarter was more of the same as Wofford kept dropping points, increasing their lead on almost every shot.
Alea Harris scored her first points of the game a minute into the quarter and
Jamie Grob made a contested layup to put herself on the board. Wofford was able to hold Bob Jones scoreless in the last 5:41 of the quarter, ending the first half on a 13-0 run, led by Harris who had nine of those points.
Jamari McDavid was flawless in the 3
rd quarter, scoring 11 points and going 5-5 from the floor. She made Wofford's first two baskets of the quarter before
Da'Ja Green hit a three. McDavid scored four more prior to the media timeout, making Wofford's lead 67-28.
MaryMartha Turner finished the 3
rd quarter by driving the lane and floating up a layup that fell in.
It was all on the bench players from here on out for Wofford as the starters got a rest and were able to cheer their teammates on. Harris was unstoppable in the 4
th quarter, scoring 10 of Wofford's 13 points and knocking down two 3's. Lutz added two assists and the Terriers were able to breeze past the Bruins in the final minutes for one of their best performances in program history.
Alea Harris led the way with a career-high 21 points,
Niyah Lutz recorded her second career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and
Elena Pulanco played outstanding defense and had a game-high six steals.
"Really happy for our players, excited for our bench that scored 47 points, and everybody had positive minutes and played well," said Coach Garrity. "I'm happy for everyone that came off the bench. Elena played incredibly well on defense which set Niyah and Alea up. I'm happy for the way we shared the ball too and we had fun and were great teammates towards one another."
