SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford women's lacrosse team welcomed Winthrop to Gibbs Stadium on Thursday evening, falling to the Eagles 18-4.
JoJo Franklin had a pair of goals for the Terriers, while
Hannah Wurzel and
Ally Furnari each scored one apiece. As a team, Wofford totaled 10 shots on goal, 11 ground balls and six draw controls while causing 5 turnovers.
Winthrop jumped all over Wofford from the start, taking a 6-0 lead before Franklin got the Terriers on the board. The Eagles responded by scoring the next eight before Wurzel and Furnari scored back-to-back goals to go into the break trailing by 11.
The two teams combined for just five goals in the second half, with Franklin capping off the scoring.
The Terriers, who are now 2-6 on the year, have a layoff before heading to Jacksonville next Friday, March 29.
