Cassidy Hicks, though, Samford would hold on for the 4-3 victory in the end at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. Senior
Curran Carver also added a singles win in the contest for Wofford, as the loss drops the Terriers to 11-7 and 3-3 in the SoCon while Samford moves to 11-10 and 2-4 in league play.

The Bulldogs would earn the doubles point, sweeping all three courts to start off the day. Â

Lilie Steryous fell first in No. 2 doubles, 6-2, to Grace Jennings and Mary Katherine Lewis.

Cassidy Hicks and
Jenna Vroman saw their 11-match win streak come to an end, as the duo dropped just their second match of the year to Samford's top pair of Elsa Pool and Holly Horsfall to clinch the doubles point for the Bulldogs. Â Â

Brittney Wilbur then fell, 6-3, to Natalia De Uagrte and Arianna Beltrame on the No. 3 court to shift the focus into singles play.

Singles play ended up coming down to the wire, with three of the six matches going into three sets. The Bulldogs opened with a win in the No. 4 spot, though,
Curran Carver answered for the Terriers with her fifth overall and second straight SoCon victory in No. 6 singles, 7-6, 6-2, over Mary Katherine Lewis to put Wofford on the board, 2-1.

Freshman
Lilie Steryous held an early advantage over Natalia De Ugarte with a decisive first set win (6-2), though, Ugarte would rally to take the next two sets, 6-4, 6-2, to push the Bulldogs' lead to 3-1.

Vroman sparked the comeback for the Terriers, earning a gritty three-set win over Grace Jennings on the No. 1 court, 7-5, 6-7, 6-3, to find herself back in the win column for her fourth SoCon victory and 13
th overall, while Hicks followed her lead with a resilient victory in three sets as well (6-2, 6-7, 6-1) on the No. 2 court to tie the match at 3-3.

Wofford's fate would lie in
Brittney Wilbur's hands on the No. 5 court, as the sophomore battled back-and-forth with Amanda Beltrame, but ultimately came up short in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5, to give Samford the 4-3 win.

The Terriers return back home to Spartanburg for their regular season finale next Saturday, April 13, as Wofford will host Western Carolina on Senior Day at Reeves Tennis Center. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
