SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed on Friday morning at the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia.
Hannah Steelman was third overall, while as a team the women were 12
th and the men were 16
th in the highly competitive field.

Hannah Steelman finished third overall in the women's 6K race with a time of 20:26.8. She finished behind Jessica Pascoe (Florida) and Annie Fuller (Michigan State). Her time was the second-fastest in school history in the 6K.
Taryn Schoen was next to finish for the Terriers at 22:59.7 to place 80
th. Also scoring were
Sommer McKenzie (23:25.6),
Annie Mayfield (23:26.8),
Mary Stewart Wilson (24:13.4) and
Whitley Elsass (26:14.0).

The men's 8K competition began the day and was won by Morgan Beadlescomb of Michigan State. The first Terrier to cross the finish line was
Jack Zemp in 26:38.9 to place 115
th overall. He was followed by
Josh Hendry (26:48.5),
Ford McCoy (27:26.4),
Beck Classey (28:08.8),
Palmer Haigler (28:18.1) and
Collin Bertram (28:34.1).

Overall, Michigan State won the women's race with Yale second and Kentucky third. Virginia won the men's race, followed by Michigan State and Charlotte. Â Â Â

Other teams competing included Butler, William & Mary, Elon, Liberty, Florida, High Point, Bucknell, Richmond, Radford, Wake Forest, Winthrop and Norfolk State.

Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Saturday, October 5, at the Upstate Invitational held at Milliken Park.
