GREENSBORO, Ga. - The Wofford women's golf team opened up its spring season at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational this weekend, wrapping up play on Sunday with
Becca Earl tying for 12th place individually.
As a team, Wofford placed 12th overall with scores of 316, 313 and a round-three 313. Earl opened up the tournament with a 3-over-par 75 in round one, birdieing holes No. 10 and No. 11. The sophomore bounced back with a strong round two, firing a 2-under-par 70, birdieing five holes in the process. On Sunday, Earl would once again card a 75, this time birdieing hole No. 2, No. 16 and No. 17.
Kristine Torralba posted scores of 80 and 79, respectively in rounds one and two, but finished strong with a 2-over-par 74, carding birdies on holes No. 2, No. 16 and No. 17.Â
Speedy Kent had her best outing on Sunday, posting a 79 with birdies on No. 7 and No. 16 while
Lina Settelmayer rounded out the scoring for the Terriers.Â
The team will return to action on March 1 when it begins the Kiawah Island Spring Invitational.Â
