Women’s Tennis Brings in Two More in 2021 Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford's women's tennis team and head coach Krissy Hall announced the additional signings of Breda Brennan and Emma Sorensen earlier this week.

"I am thrilled to add Breda and Emma to our incoming class for 2021.  I believe their best tennis is ahead of them", said coach Hall. "I am excited for the opportunity to coach these amazing young ladies.  They are both leaders and hard workers who will represent Wofford with great pride both on and off the court."

Brennan comes by way of Limerick, Ireland; now residing in Dublin. She attended Castletroy College and earned a High Achievers Business Award from the University of Limerick. Brennan was ranked #1 nationally for U16 girls' singles and ranked #2 in Ireland at the U18 level. She won the National Junior Spring Championship in 2019 and 2020 both as an U16 players. She was selected, and played, in the Senior Interpros in 2019 as a junior player, and won the 2019 Ladies Summer Premier League.

"Breda is a young lady of great character who will fit perfectly into the culture of our team. Throughout the recruiting process, her drive to be successful both in the classroom and on the court really stood out to me", said Hall. "I have no doubt she will make a huge impact on our team and in the Wofford Community during her time in Spartanburg."

Sorensen hails from Oslo, Norway; the second Norwegian to sign for the Terriers in two years (Emely Kahrs). She has ranked #8 or better in Norway for the past five years, and was a winner and finalist of the Master's Junior Singles tournament. She was also a champion in the National Doubles Championships in 2017 and 2018, and a finalist in 2019. Sorensen already has chemistry with Kahrs as they teamed up to win the Grand Prix National tournament in July 2020.

"Emma will add depth to our team and make an immediate impact in the doubles line-up", stated Hall. "Throughout the recruiting process, I have been impressed with her determination, energy, and eagerness to be a Terrier.  I can't wait to see what Emma is going to accomplish in her four years at Wofford."
