SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Five Terriers scored in double figures en route to a dominant 98-41 victory over Erskine College (0-3) at the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on Monday evening, as the Terriers shot 55 percent from the field (33-of-60) and held a plus-27 rebound advantage for the game to roll to a 2-1 overall record.

"It started with our shoot around this morning. We had a really good mature approach and some good energy to us, "said head coach
Jay McAuley. "I think you saw some shots just didn't go in throughout the game. We would've had a lot more assists than that, but we were thinking the right way."

"I really appreciated our guys' efforts on the glass [up 27 on the glass]. We had that in mind, losing the glass to Clemson the other night, so that was a good response by our guys and we did some really nice things on both ends of the floor."

The Terriers held a 46-19 rebound advantage for the game, while tallying 18 assists on the night, including connecting on 9-of-29 from beyond the arc (31%).

Sophomore forward
Sam Godwin led all double-figure scorers with a game-high 16 points, on a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and career-high eight free throws, to pair with six rebounds. Junior forward
Messiah Jones followed with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting and five rebounds. Jones was active on both sides of the ball, matching a career-best four blocks defensively in addition to a steal and two assists.

Sophomore guard
Morgan Safford finished with 13 points, including two threes and 5-of-7 from the line, and two assists in 18 minutes.

"We had to get him 15 to 20 minutes tonight just to keep his conditioning moving forward," added McAuley of
Morgan Safford's presence throughout the game. "Thought he started out warming up to the game but, once he got loose, I thought he did some nice things. We're going to certainly need that to happen as we progress here throughout the season."

Junior
B.J. Mack added 10 points, six rebounds and an assists, as freshman
Austin Patterson also recorded 10 points with three rebounds, two steals and an assist in 17 minutes to round out Wofford's double-digit scorers on the night.

Wofford boosted a 30-point lead at the half, 49-19, while equaling its first-half total of 49 over the final 20 minutes, leading for 38:30 of the contest.
Sophomore
Max Klesmit registered nine points, two assists and a season-best three steals, followed by freshman guard
Corey Tripp with a career-best nine points, including his first career 3-pointer, on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting 11 minutes off the bench. Junior
Isaiah Bigelow led with a game-high 10 rebounds, in addition to five points and two steals, while
Luke Turner contributed five points, three rebounds and steals apiece (career-highs) and two assists.

Keaton Turner (three points, three rebounds, two assists),
Ryan Larson (two points, three rebounds and assists) and
Jackson Gore (one point) round out the Terriers' scoring for the game.

Erskine finished the contest connecting on just 15-of-55 attempts from the field (27.3%), including 19 percent from beyond the arc (4-of-21). The Flying Fleet hit 7-of-10 shots from the charity stripe (70%). The Fleet were led by Jaylen Prioleau with 12 points and five rebounds.

The Terriers received 23 points off 23 Erskine turnovers, while notching 18 fast-break and second-chance points and tallying 44 points inside the paint. Additionally, the Terriers received 53 points from their bench throughout the game.
The Terriers finished the contest shooting 23-for-35 from the free-throw line (65.7%).

Wofford (2-1) prepares to host the Terrier Classic this weekend, hosting Hampton and Georgia Southern to Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium for a multi-team event on Nov. 19-21 in Spartanburg, S.C.

"The crowds have been really good so far. I know we haven't hit the meat of our schedule yet, but we will need our students and our fans here for Friday and Sunday," added McAuley of this weekend's Terrier Classic matchups against Hampton and Georgia Southern. "It's going to be a big challenge for us and we're just excited to host a MTE here in our own arena. That's a really cool thing for Wofford and hopefully that's something we can do moving forward."

The action begins on Friday, Nov. 19, when Wofford hosts Hampton for a 7:30 p.m. matchup at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

The Pirates and Georgia Southern will face each other in a neutral site contest at JRIS on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m., while the Terriers will square off against Georgia Southern to conclude the event on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 5 p.m.
