QUOTABLE
Wofford pitcher
Elliot Carney – "We were obviously super emotional trying to get the sweep and thankfully we did. We made some incredible defensive plays, in particular by
Trey Yunger with a diving catch in left field and
Colin Davis with a diving catch in center field, for an all-around great defensive performance. It feels great to have a no hitter. I was just trying to live one pitch at a time and throw all of my pitches for strikes and thankfully it worked out. I felt like I was in command of all three of my pitches which was integral to my success."
Wofford head coach
Todd Interdonato – "Going into the performance by Carney, we were looking to get a good start out of him and extend. We went 12 innings last night and used a lot of pitching in the front end of the doubleheader so our objective was to get him deep in the game. As the game went on more people became aware of what was going on, but we couldn't focus on that because the game was so tight. It was 1-0, 3-0 and then finally 5-0 felt like a big spread. I could not be more proud of him and could not be more proud to be in the dugout to witness that."
