KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Wofford women's golf team (+52) notched its best Southern Conference Championships finish since 2015 on Tuesday afternoon, jumping up a spot through the final round to place sixth at the Oak Point Golf Course. Senior Lina Settelmayer (+12) led the way, tied for 20^th, as Wofford's top finisher.
 
The finish marks Wofford's best since placing fourth in the 2015 SoCon Championships with a score of 891 (+27). Since then, the Terriers have finished in seventh place for the past four consecutive years (2020, canc. due to COVID-19).
 
ETSU (+12) won the conference title by just one stroke over Furman (+13), as Mercer (+20), Chattanooga (+33) and Samford (+35) followed in third, fourth and fifth, respectively. The Paladins claimed the individual medalist and individual runner-up, respectively, in Sarah-Eve Rheaume (-4) and Madison Moosa (-3).  
 
The Terriers finished with a score of 298 on Tuesday for a total of 916 for the tournament, finishing five strokes better than UNCG (+57), while scoring wins over Western Carolina (+62) and The Citadel (+96).
 
Settelmayer (+12) finished with a total of 228 for the tournament, recording two birdies on holes No. 8 and No. 12 to conclude Tuesday's round with a 3-over-par 75 – slotting her with a top-20 finish to lead the Terriers in her final tournament sporting the old gold and black.
 
Overall, Wofford saw three top-25 finishers, as junior Becca Earl (+13) and sophomore Nicole Amos (+13) both finished tied for 22^nd. Amos used five birdies in the final round to secure the team round-low with a 73 for a total score of 229, while Earl also tallied five birdies to conclude with a 2-over-par 74.
 
Additionally, Amos (9) and Earl (8) both led Wofford for the most birdies, as Earl also finished tied for fourth among the field in par-4s (+3).
 
Sophomore Lindsey Hollis (+15) finished tied for 27^th after recording a 77 to finish with a total score of 231, while junior Speedy Kent (+24) used a 76 to finish tied for 38^th with a score of 240.
 
Becca Earl finishes the season as the team's leader with a 76.59 stroke average through 17 rounds played this spring. Lina Settelmayer follows with a 77.20 average through 15 rounds, as Lindsey Hollis (77.55, 11 rounds) and Nicole Amos (77.59, 17 rounds) round out Wofford's top five competitors on the year.
