MACON, Ga. – The Wofford women's golf team competed at the Brickyard course in the Mercer Invitational, finishing in 14
th at the par-72 6,174-yard course. Finishing off the fall slate,
Nicole Amos led the way for the Terriers by tying for 26
th.
Wofford suffered an unfortunate stumble to conclude its fall slate, shooting 932 as a team to place in 14
th out of 15 teams, besting only Lamar. Host and fellow SoCon foe Mercer won the event at 6-over par with a score of 870.
Nicole Amos was the top Terrier, carding 227 with rounds of 78-72-77. Her 11-over par score was good for a tie for 26
th, her best finish individually of the season. Her 72 in round two was just one stroke above her career-low of 71.
Mercer's Mikayla Dubnik shot 214 at 2-under to earn low medalist and sweep the event for the Bears.
Lindsey Hollis was two strokes behind Amos at 229 (77-78-74). At 13-over par, she tied for 36
th. Hollis notched 37 pars, sixth-best in the field.
Lilli Horn and
Taylor Burch each tied for 62
nd, posting a score of 237. Horn competed as an individual in the tournament.
Maggie Jackson tied for 69
th with a score of 239, and
Ella Stoll rounds out the Wofford lineup with a score of 249 to tie for 85
th.
With the fall slate of action in the books, the Terriers will now begin preparations for the spring season and look to bounce back in 2023 when they return to the course.
